up in a ball like a baby? roll over on your back?, arms at your side?, folding
legs?
Do you sleep on your side,
stomach, or back best? Actually, people going to gravitate toward a position
that you feel best sleeping in, and also tend to choose one based on how well
they are able to breathe.
You may want to experiment with
different positions and switch to another position if the one that you favor
may not be suitable for the health.
SLEEP POSITION AND THE IMPACT

Let’s take a look at five common
sleeping positions and what they do to your body.
1. on Your Back
With arms at
Sides, It is generally considered to be the best sleeping position for spine health and it’s good for your neck
as long as you don’t use too many
pillows. But back sleepers tend to
snore more than those in any other position and sleep apnea is strongly
associated with sleeping on the back.
With arms up, whether
you have your arms up around your pillow or not, sleeping on your back may also
help to prevent facial wrinkles and skin
breakouts. However this one can also result in snoring plus having shoulders pain.
2. Face Down (on stomach)
It can improve
digestion system but most likely leads to you tilting your face in one
direction, this can put a lot of strain on the neck. Sleeping face down can
also cause back pain, as the curve of the spine is not supported.
3. Fetal Position
It might be
comfortable but it’s probably one of the
worst sleeping positions as it can result in back pain and neck pain. It can
also restrict deep breathing.
4. on Side
With both arms
down, the spine is best supported in its natural curve. This can definitely
help reduce back and neck pain and also reducing sleep apnea. But it contributes
to skin aging, facial wrinkles (because of gravity).
With both arms out,
it has the same benefits of sleeping on your side with your arms straight down.
However, it contributes to shoulder and
arm pain due to restricted blood flow and pressure on the nerves.
5. on the Right Side
Sleeping on the
right side can worsen heartburn while sleeping on the left side can put strain
on internal organs like the liver, lungs, and stomach (while minimizing acid
reflux). For pregnant sleepers, doctors typically advise sleeping on the left
side, since this can improve circulation to the fetus.
PILLOW
After we know about the proper way
to sleep, it is good idea to supplement your body with pillow while sleeping to
get better night rest,
